    Protein Summary

    Gene BH3618 from Bacillus halodurans codes for the NP_244485 protein that belongs to the Fliw family of Pfam (PF02623). Proteins of this family are annotated as flagellar assembly factors. Analysis of its genome context indicates that BH3618 could be functionally link (score 0.9) with the carbon storage regulator homolog csrA and the flagellar hook-associated protein 1 (flgK) and 3 (flgL).

    2aj7 structure adopts a new SCOP fold named BH3618-like. DALI finds no reliable hits. Structural similarity to proteins of the

     

     


    lipocalcins fold (eg., PDB 1p6p) can be found using FATCAT although there are differences in the total number of strands in the barrel. JCSG has also determined the structure of a related protein GSU3040 from Geobacter sulfurreducens. These proteins are also similar to TM0081 from Thermotoga maritima.
